Glico USA was honored to participate once again in the 2025 Sweets & Snacks Expo, held at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, IN from May 13 through 15. Following two years of successful exhibitions, our team was proud to return to this premier industry event to unveil our latest product developments and connect with partners, peers, and confectionery enthusiasts from around the world.

Introducing Pocky Peppermint – A U.S. Exclusive Flavor

The highlight of our booth this year was Pocky Peppermint, our first-ever U.S. exclusive Pocky flavor, which debuted during the 2024 holiday season. This seasonal limited Pocky combines a refreshing peppermint-flavored chocolate coating with our signature crisp biscuit stick, offering a holiday twist on the classic Pocky experience.

Our exhibition space was designed to fully reflect the energy and excitement surrounding this launch. Adorned in vibrant Pocky Red branding, the booth featured exciting displays and engaging touchpoints aimed at delivering an immersive experience for visitors.

An Engaging Booth Experience

In addition to showcasing our latest offerings, Glico USA curated a number of interactive elements to enhance attendee engagement, including:

Pocky Peppermint Photo Opportunity – A fun, immersive backdrop perfect for snapping and sharing on social media

Pocky and PRETZ Product Displays – A showcase shelf of fan-favorite Pocky and PRETZ where guests could learn about the Glico product line.

2024 has been another amazing year for Glico, packed with exciting product launches, the debut of our e-commerce, and meaningful community activations. Let’s take a moment to celebrate some of the highlights and achievements that made this year so special!

New & Exciting Product Launches

We kicked off 2024 with bold new products across the Glico brands:

March: we introduced an exciting new seasonal Pocky Sakura (Cherry Blossom) Matcha which quickly captured the attention of matcha lovers.

May: we launched the Pocky 10-Pack Share Size, available exclusively at Walmart, creating new opportunities for friends and family to enjoy Pocky together.

Summer: fan-favorite Pocky flavors: Mint and Coconut made a return, in addition to the new, Salted Vanilla.

Halloween: we spiced things up by adding PRETZ Original and Pizza flavors to our beloved Halloween Pack lineup.

Winter: To cap off the year, we released the U.S.-exclusive Pocky Peppermint, bursting with the rich, creamy flavor of natural peppermint. Joining it was the debut of the Zeitaku (Luxury) Pocky series from Japan, offering fans a premium, indulgent Pocky experience.

Celebrate Pocky Day on 11.11: A Beloved Tradition in Japan and Beyond

Excitement is building for Pocky fans, as Pocky Day approaches on November 11th (11.11)! This special day celebrates the beloved snack, with the number “1” symbolizing the iconic Pocky stick. Pocky Day is a moment to express our gratitude to our fans and celebrate together by sharing happiness, one Pocky stick at a time!

The Origin of Pocky and Pocky Day

In 1966, we introduced Pocky with the aim of expanding its presence in the growing chocolate snack market. To create a unique chocolate treat that stands out, Pocky was born with a distinctive “handle” (the biscuit portion left uncovered by chocolate), which made it easier to eat mess-free with an added element of fun to the snacking experience. For over 58 years, we’ve developed countless flavors and variations of Pocky around the world, but the signature “handle” design has remained unchanged— together with its creamy, crunchy, delicious taste!

Pocky Day was later established on November 11, 1999 to celebrate over 30 years of Pocky’s success. Officially recognized by the Japan Holiday Association, this special day is a testament to how deeply our Pocky has been embraced and loved. It is our commitment to continue improving the brand by listening to the needs and desires of our fans while sharing the joy of snacking with friends and family around the world.

Fun fact: When Pocky was first launched, the sticks were individually hand-dipped into chocolate!
